Overview
From Washington – The unique flavors in this flagship whiskey, Westland American Oak, derive from roasted malts inspired by Pacific Northwest beer culture. This Westland American Single Malt Whiskey has notes of rich fruit, rainier cherries, dark chocolate, and coffee.
In pursuit of an authentically American single malt whiskey, Westland brings their signature five-malt barley bill together with new American oak casks --two things practically unheard of in the old world. This combination produces a dramatically different whiskey from what is now commonplace and expected in the single malt category. But just as traditional styles of single malt from Scotland emerged as a reflection of regions such as Islay and Speyside, so too does this American Oak stay true to the provenance of Westland's Pacific Northwest home.
Nose: Lemon and orange custard, waffle cone, creme brulee, chocolate custard, jasmine
Palate: Rich fruit, Rainier cherries, Swiss chocolate, almond, bananas, cream, Turkish coffee
